KARA, TOGO, WEST AFRICA 008

Mother and child at play.  What a joy to watch.

Big, BIG,  granite rock in middle of what is to be Bible Institute.

No big pneumatic hammers here, heat the rock till it fractures and then sledge and wedge it to pieces that can be moved by hand.

We will get back to the rock tomorrow after the fire has died down and see how to make it go awy.  Even trees come down by physical labor, not mechanics.  Normally trees are felled by digging out and cutting the root structure.  Bricks are made by hand and stone is carried by the bucketful.  LA Fitness and Golds Gym would not make it here, as there are no couch potatoes. Come to think of it, no obesity in children or adults.

My son Shane is a climber, that is he has his own business cutting down trees by climbing them with a chain saw and taking them down.  At one of the local pastor's house there were two tees that needed to come down.  To expedited it and to show how we do it back home, Jon rented a chain saw for Shane to use.

When the cain saw arrived it was in such poor condition , it was an accident just waiting to happen,  that we let th owner of it use it.  Trees down, no one hurt, Praise God.

Most everything gets carried on the head....

Shane tries his hand (head) at it.

Overlook how wet he is.  Everyone thought it was neat that he did as good as he did and they liked his spirit.
