Feels good to be back to familiar ground.  We left Accra, Ghana before 6:00am and headed toward Lome.
Crossing the border went smooth and we stopped at a small western style market before heading North to Kara.

Shane and Isabelle should remember this as it is the same place we stopped in 2010 visit.
Terry, Cindy and Kobrie, this is the other Hotel California.  Actually a better place to visit than the one on Hollywood Blvd.  This one did not offer a place to sleep, but it was cleaner.

Going up this side of the mountain you go around the "eye of the needle".  Those coming down must squeeze thru.  With the way some of these trucks are loaded..........

See a lot of these along the way.  The really bad ones are where they went of the road and slid of the side of the mountain, and usually burn.

Stopped to take panoramic photo of one of the most beautiful places.  As far as you can see, there is no sign of civilization.  those that live here are "close to the Earth" in more ways than you can imagine.

Here is a better view.  Most would agree because they would rather have Jonathan in the foreground  than me.  I can live with that.

How it goes:    Both GTE Credit Union and Valrico State Bank noted my travel and lifted any  international restrictions on my cards.  What they did not realize is that in the past year Togo became a NON Mastercard nation.    VISA ok Mastercard no non nyet noway.  Should save me some money as I can not get to it.  Will have to get creative...........

OK, that was Sunday - three days on the ground.
